About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, performing imaging procedures, and providing exceptional patient care.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical imaging, with a diploma in Health Technology and certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technology. Previous MRI experience is an asset, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all imaging procedures are performed to the highest standard, and that patient information is accurately recorded and maintained. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment will be valuable assets in this role.

This is a long-term, full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $39.96. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and life insurance coverage.

About You

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School with a diploma in Health Technology, e.g. RT and successful completion of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technology MRI exams
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
    Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous MRI experience preferred
  • Demonstrate competency in I.V. insertion
  • Frequent independent decisions assessing diagnostic results recognizing the significance of all structures visualized, differentiating artifactual from normal or pathological and improvising standard techniques in routine and non-routine circumstances
  • Ensures competency, maintains an ongoing interest in updating knowledge on new equipment and procedures
  • Practices excellent patient care; demonstrating courtesy, kindness and understanding using effective communication skills
  • Operates computer system in regard to patient information
  • Highly adaptable professional who can think critically and thrive as a member of a dynamic team
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
