About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team at Definity Financial. As a key member of our Corporate Actuarial department, you will play a critical role in supporting our Financial Condition Testing (FCT) process and contributing to our Economic Capital Modelling activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Condition Testing (FCT): Assist in refreshing the FCT model with latest assumptions, running scenarios, and making enhancements to the model.
  • Economic Capital Modelling: Contribute to activities including Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) Stress Testing and Reporting.
  • Capital Target Setting: Assist in setting capital targets for the Enterprise.
  • Risk Management Initiatives: Support initiatives such as Catastrophe modelling, Aggregation/Concentration monitoring, and assessing the impact of climate change from both a Capital & Risk Management perspective.
  • Collaboration and Process Improvement: Work collaboratively with other Actuarial teams and external teams to solve complex problems, identify opportunities for process efficiencies, and recommend changes.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Actuarial Experience: Completed a minimum of 4 exams of the Casualty Actuarial Society or equivalent credentials, and at least 3 years of full-time actuarial experience in the insurance industry.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of Capital modelling, FCT, and IFRS 17 would be an asset, as well as proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages (Excel, VBA, SQL, etc.).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities to convey complex concepts, and a results-driven mindset with a focus on driving business performance.
