Seeking a Mental Health Nurse Coordinator to provide complex screening, triage, assessment, treatment, and case coordination services to the community mental health and addictions population.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Urgent Care/Matrix Management Team, the Mental Health Nurse Coordinator will provide a range of services to the community mental health and addictions population seen at the Urgent Care Centre.

  • Provide screening, triage, assessment, treatment, and case coordination services to the community mental health and addictions population.
  • Consult and coordinate with the interdisciplinary Urgent Care Centre team to provide program consultation and evaluation of clinical interventions.
  • Supervise and provide professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources.
  • Provide nursing leadership and clinical expertise in the development and maintenance of community mental health and addiction treatment programs.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience working in inpatient mental health and/or community mental health and addictions services.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of major mental health disorders and addiction issues.
Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Registered/eligible with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent knowledge and skills related to in-patient and community psychiatric nursing practice.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate areas of client difficulty across a wide range of clinical presentations.
  • Sound understanding and demonstrated knowledge of the needs of people with mental health/addiction concerns and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct mental health and addiction screening and/or assessments and provide treatment planning and crisis intervention/treatment.

  • Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during statutory holidays.
