Job Summary

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Talent Acquisition & Onboarding (TAO) team. Come join us and make an impact the future of our health care workforce as a Full-Time Representative, TAO. This opportunity is based out of our Central City Offices located in Surrey, B.C.

As the successful candidate, you will take on a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Assess applicants and coordinate the completion of relevant employment documentation
  • Provide guidance to managers directly on posting requirements and related recruitment queries
  • Complete routine and confidential human resource and labour relations related documentation such as letters regarding appointments and employment verification
  • Provide advice and clarification/interpretation of collective agreements
  • Evaluate procedures and make recommendations to implement revised methods to improve human resources administration in areas of your responsibility

Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:

Reporting to the Leader, Talent Acquisition, the Representative supports the functions of Talent Acquisition Services through the application of Employee Experience policies, procedures and Collective Agreement provisions pertaining to internal/external employment and recruitment processes to employees, managers and Employee Experience staff. The Representative supports client portfolios and assigned Client Partners, Talent Acquisition to provide interface and services on a variety of recruitment activities; such as processing position postings utilizing a suite of software applications, including maintenance and online recruitment support; preparing recruitment media information and employment documentation; reviews, pre-screens and assesses applicants received online or by mail; provides administrative support to department; composes and completes human resources and labour relations related documentation.

Responsibilities

  1. Supports internal/external recruitment activities such as preparing and posting employment opportunities to include relevant notification at various Fraser Health sites, processing online and paper-based profiles/applications, pre-screening and short listing applicants; matches applicants to postings and forwards information online to managers.
  2. Assesses applicants, coordinates the completion of relevant employment documentation, reviews and confirms credentials/qualifications with applicants; conducts pre-screen interviews; provides guidance to managers/managers directly on posting requirements and related recruitment queries.
  3. Completes routine and confidential human resource and labour relations related documentation such as letters regarding appointments and employment verification, and other HR forms such as external reference requests.
  4. Conducts human resources research and analysis; provides advice and clarification/interpretation of collective agreements and responds to general queries concerning to internal/external recruitment.
  5. Participates in confidential projects as requested; gathers and consolidates a variety of statistical information; provides summaries of data as requested.
  6. Prepares, processes, updates and/or maintains a variety of competition files, other relevant files and external new hire lists.
  7. Evaluates procedures; makes recommendations and implements revised methods to improve human resources administration in areas of responsibility.
  8. Participates in human resource management and internal/external recruitment matters and their associated databases and administration; performs routine research by compiling, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting personnel related data.
  9. Initiates, maintains and updates record keeping systems including vacancy tracking, employee vacancy competition files; purges files completed and ensures their retention for approved period of time.
  10. Administers a range of employee tests (e.g. typing and medical terminology) and maintains test records.
  11. Responds to a variety of requests for information and assistance from internal and external contacts related to the posting process; prepares relevant correspondence as required.
  12. Makes arrangements necessary for individual and/or group meetings, job fair or external presentations.
  13. Provides general administrative support by sorting, screening and distributing correspondence and documents for the general information of the department.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of a two-year post secondary program in human resources or a directly related discipline, plus two (2) years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Professional/Technical Capabilities:

  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications including on-line recruitment systems.
  • Knowledge of human resource practices and relevant collective agreements.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm.
  • Thorough knowledge of office methods and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with staff and public effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
