Job Title: Floor Care Technician

At ServiceMaster Clean of Chatham, Windsor & Sarnia, we are seeking a highly skilled Floor Care Technician to join our team. As a key member of our cleaning crew, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our commercial client sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dust and Clean Furniture: Ensure all furniture, including desks, chairs, tables, and knick-knacks, are thoroughly dusted to create a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Dust and Clean Exposed Areas: Dust all exposed filing cabinets, bookcases, and shelves to keep them free from dust and debris.
  • Sanitize and Clean Equipment: Clean, sanitize, and polish all telephones, drinking fountains, and other equipment to ensure they are hygienic and functional.
  • Clean and Dust Surfaces: Clean and dust all horizontal surfaces, including shelves, molding, and ledges, to create a clean and tidy environment.
  • Remove Dust and Cobwebs: Remove dust and cobwebs from ceiling areas to keep them clean and free from debris.
  • Clean and Sanitize Bathrooms: Clean, sanitize, and polish all bathroom fixtures, including toilet bowls, urinals, and hand basins, to ensure they are hygienic and functional.
  • Empty and Maintain Garbage Bins: Empty and maintain all garbage bins, including inserting liners, spot cleaning, and sanitizing, to keep them clean and hygienic.
  • Refill Dispensers: Refill all dispensers to normal limits, including napkins, soap, tissue, towel, liners, seat holders/covers, and cups, to ensure they are always stocked.
  • Perform Additional Tasks: Perform additional cleaning instructions received from clients, when required, to ensure their needs are met.
  • Establish Positive Rapport: Establish positive rapport with clients when possible, to build trust and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Provide Exceptional Service: Provide an exceptional level of service that exceeds the expectation of the client, to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Follow Safety Policies: Conduct all work in accordance with company safety policies, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Prepare Floors for Project Work: Prepare floors for project work, including stripping and waxing, to ensure they are clean and ready for use.
  • Shampoo Carpets: Shampoo carpets to keep them clean and hygienic.
  • Strip and Wax Floors: Strip and wax floors to keep them clean and well-maintained.
  • Machine Scrub Floors: Machine scrub floors to keep them clean and hygienic.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Must have at least 4 years of experience in floor maintenance, including stripping and waxing, shampooing carpets, and machine scrubbing floors.
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles.
  • Communication Skills: Must have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Attention to Detail: Must have a strong attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Work Ethics: Must demonstrate sound work ethics, including a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality.
  • Teamwork: Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, including collaborating with colleagues and clients.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible and adaptable to work in a variety of settings, including different client sites and environments.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical Exertion: This position requires a high level of physical exertion, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Sensory Effort: Moderate intensity of sensory effort is required, including exposure to dust, dirt, and other environmental factors.
