Job Title: Floor Care Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Floor Care Technician to join our team at ServiceMaster Clean of Chatham, Windsor & Sarnia. As a Floor Care Technician, you will be responsible for conducting various general housekeeping cleaning services at assigned commercial client sites, including floor maintenance, carpet cleaning, and equipment operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Dust and Clean Furniture: Dust all furniture, including desks, chairs, tables, and knick-knacks, to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Dust and Clean Exposed Areas: Dust all exposed filing cabinets, bookcases, and shelves to ensure a clean and tidy environment.
  • Clean and Sanitize Equipment: Clean and sanitize all telephones and drinking fountains to maintain a healthy and safe workspace.
  • Dust and Clean High Surfaces: Dust and clean all high surfaces, including shelves, molding, and ledges, to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Clean and Sanitize Mirrors and Glass: Clean and sanitize all mirrors and glass within the unit, including interior glass in partitions and doors.
  • Remove Dust and Cobwebs: Remove dust and cobwebs from ceiling areas to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Clean and Sanitize Bathroom Fixtures: Clean and sanitize all bathroom fixtures, including toilet bowls, urinals, and hand basins.
  • Empty and Maintain Garbage Bins: Empty and maintain all containers and garbage bins, including inserting liners, spot cleaning, and sanitizing.
  • Refill Dispensers: Refill all dispensers to normal limits, including napkins, soap, tissue, towel, liners, seat holders/covers, and cups.
  • Perform Additional Cleaning Instructions: Perform additional cleaning instructions received from clients, when required.
  • Establish Positive Rapport: Establish positive rapport with clients when possible.
  • Provide Exceptional Service: Provide an exceptional level of service that exceeds the expectation of the client.
  • Conduct Work Safely: Conduct all work in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Prepare Floors for Project Work: Prepare floors for project work, including shampooing carpets and stripping and waxing floors.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Must have at least 4 years of experience in floor maintenance.
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Independent Work: Must be able to work independently.
  • Effective Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
  • Sound Work Ethics: Demonstrated sound work ethics.
  • Strong Working Relationships: Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Flexibility: Flexible, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a variety of settings.
  • Teamwork: Works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Commercial Cleaning Experience: Minimum of one (2) years of experience in cleaning services, with experience in commercial cleaning preferred.
  • Previous Floor Work Experience: Must have previous floor work experience, including buffing, stripping & waxing, shower scrubbing, carpet shampooing, and upholstery cleaning.
  • Valid Ontario Class G License: Must hold a valid Ontario class G license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Exertion: This position requires a high level of physical exertion.
  • Sensory Effort: Moderate intensity of sensory effort is required.
