JOB OVERVIEW
The Commercial Floor Care Specialist will be tasked with executing a variety of general cleaning and maintenance services at designated commercial locations, focusing on floor care including stripping, waxing, carpet cleaning, and buffing. Flexibility in scheduling is essential due to varying work hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Dust and clean all furniture, including desks, chairs, and tables (only exposed areas)
  • Dust and sanitize all filing cabinets, bookcases, and shelves
  • Sanitize telephones and drinking fountains
  • Perform low and high dusting on all horizontal surfaces
  • Clean mirrors and glass surfaces, including interior glass in partitions and doors
  • Remove dust and cobwebs from ceilings
  • Sanitize and polish all restroom fixtures, including toilets and sinks
  • Empty and maintain waste containers, ensuring liners are replaced and surfaces are sanitized
  • Restock dispensers to standard levels, including napkins, soap, and towels
  • Follow additional cleaning instructions from clients as needed
  • Build positive relationships with clients when possible
  • Deliver exceptional service that surpasses client expectations
  • Adhere to company safety protocols in all tasks
  • Prepare floors for specialized cleaning projects
  • Shampoo carpets and maintain floor surfaces
  • Strip and wax floors as required
  • Utilize equipment for machine scrubbing of floors
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in floor maintenance
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to engage effectively with staff
  • Commitment to maintaining clean commercial environments
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in work
  • Demonstrated strong work ethics
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain professional relationships
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in diverse settings
  • Experience working both independently and as part of a team
  • At least 2 years of experience in cleaning services
  • Preferred experience in commercial cleaning
  • Prior experience in floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, carpet shampooing, and upholstery cleaning
  • Must hold a valid Ontario class G license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • This role requires significant physical exertion
  • Moderate sensory effort is necessary
