The District of Sparwood is searching for its next talented and experienced Manager within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the Facility Project Manager will primarily be responsible for tasks related to asset, project and facility management for municipal assets and buildings. The Manager will apply appropriate principles and practices to ensure municipal assets are documented, and standards, policies and procedures are in place for effective maintenance and lifecycle programs. The incumbent will be responsible for budget development, cost monitoring and identifying and leveraging opportunities for efficiencies.

This role is highly collaborative; needs and priorities are developed based on input from various departments. The successful candidate will provide advice and technical guidance to the Director of Community Services, Chief Administrative Officer and Council.

The core job duties include:Assumes the role of Acting Director of Community Services in their absenceOversees the District's facility maintenance and asset management programs by working collaboratively with various keystaff and departmentsEstablishes and maintains a centralized corporate maintenance and asset database, developing an understanding of the current state of municipal above ground assets and buildingsEstablishes and implements best practice preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance of building systems and mechanics
The ideal candidate will have:Post-secondary degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical or Civil with a professional designation), or a Financial CPA designation will be considered an assetProject Management Certification (PMP Designation) will be considered an assetA minimum of five years' experience in asset management planning, condition assessment and/or project management experience
A wide range of non-traditional education and/or equivalent work experience will be considered.

The starting salary for this position is between $100,000 and $105,000 (dependent on education and experience), with further increases based on the annual performance reviews. This salary package includes a full range of employer paid benefits, annual vacation entitlement, an earned day off program, up to 3-weeks of time off in lieu of overtime and an Active Living Pass for access to the Leisure Centre courts, fitness centre, climbing wall, pool, arena and many of the drop-in fitness classes.
