WATER & ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN

Candidates should be open to working or relocating in Sparwood or Elkford, British Columbia. There are 4 different mining sites - each mining site is approximately 45 mins north of Sparwood and 1 hour commute from Fernie.


Employment Status: Independent Contractor

Site Location: Northeast of Elkford, BC

Relocation: Elk Valley Region

Rotation: 7 days on/7 days off

Working Hours: 12 hour shift per day (days and nights)

Accommodation: None

Monthly subsidy allowance: Provided at cost


Requirements:
  1. EOCP Program, Diploma in Sciences, Environmental Technology, or an equivalent combination of training and water treatment experience.
  2. Water Treatment Certification: Having a Level I, II, or III Water or Wastewater Treatment certificate.
  3. At least 2 years work experience in monitoring and control of water treatment facility.
  4. A solid understanding of process equipment mechanics.
  5. Previous experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems, and membrane filtration.
  6. Ability to safely handle chemicals and operate equipment for transporting them.
  7. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  8. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.
  9. Strong team player who is eager to learn.
  10. Excellent communication abilities are essential.
