The City of North Vancouver seeks an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist to advance organizational health, safety, and wellness priorities.

Key responsibilities include:
• Collaborating with colleagues and client groups to deliver occupational health and safety programs, initiatives, and training;
• Providing information and guidance on health and safety matters, including OHS policy and procedures;
• Leading implementation of projects and initiatives;
• Conducting workplace inspections and participating in safety audits;
• Using data analytics and trends to inform and implement proactive workplace strategies;
• Investigating workplace accidents and processing accident claims, liaising with WorkSafeBC and other agencies;
• Representing the City before WorkSafeBC and other forums;
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Occupational Health & Safety Specialist with several years of progressive experience in health and safety, advising in a unionized environment. A thorough knowledge of disability case management and labour relations jurisprudence and legislation is required, combined with expertise in relevant legislation (Workers' Compensation Act, WorkSafeBC OHS Regulations and rehabilitation/claims services and policies). Preference will be given to applicants with the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification.
We offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a compressed work schedule. The salary range is: $108, $126, rates.
