Résumé du poste

Le coordonnateur de la production planifie et gère le flux de produits tout au long du processus de développement (développement, révision, traduction et production, y compris la rédaction et l'assurance de la qualité) et veille à ce que les produits soient prêts à être publiés ou vendus. Le coordonnateur de la production est responsable de l'intégrité du processus de développement ainsi que de la qualité et de la livraison en temps opportun des produits. Il fournit des conseils sur le processus au personnel de l'ASC, aux membres des comités, aux experts en la matière et aux ressources externes en matière de rédaction, de production et de traduction. Le coordonnateur de la production veille à l'intégrité et à la disponibilité des produits finaux qui seront livrés par l'entremise de la boutique en ligne de l'ASC, du service d'abonnement, du système de gestion de l'apprentissage et de la version imprimée (s'il y a lieu).

Principales tâches et responsabilités :

  • Point de contact initial pour les projets soumis par l'élaboration des normes, les vendeurs/réviseurs de traductions, les chefs de produits et/ou les vendeurs externes. Il est chargé de veiller à ce que les projets soumis à l'élaboration des produits soient complets, exacts, opportuns et conformes aux procédures appropriées.
  • Contrôler les calendriers et gérer le flux de produits par l'intermédiaire des ressources internes et externes afin d'achever les projets dans les délais et le budget impartis.
  • Établir des priorités dans la charge de travail, identifier et atténuer les risques liés aux projets.
  • Contrôler le système de gestion de contenu pour s'assurer que les métadonnées et les conventions de dénomination des fichiers sont acceptables dans le cadre des lignes directrices de l'ASC. Fournir des conseils correctifs si nécessaire.
  • Confier des travaux à des fournisseurs externes. Examiner la qualité du travail soumis par les ressources externes et prendre des mesures pour rectifier les soumissions insatisfaisantes.
  • Préparer les spécifications d'impression pour tous les produits nouveaux et révisés et veiller à ce qu'ils soient transmis au système/fournisseur.
  • Responsable des contrôles de qualité des fichiers sources avant publication et pendant la production.
  • En fonction des besoins, assurer le soutien de la base de données terminologiques et de la mémoire de traduction de l'ASC par la coordination et la mise à jour des produits traduits à l'aide des logiciels Trados et Trados Groupshare.
  • Assurer la sécurité et l'intégrité des fichiers de production, veiller à la qualité de l'impression et à la compatibilité avec les outils actuels de gestion des droits numériques, valider et télécharger les produits finaux en vue de l'étape suivante du travail ou de la vente.
  • Le cas échéant, il met à jour les documents publiés afin de refléter les changements intervenus au cours de leur cycle de vie, par exemple les réaffirmations, les mises à jour, les errata et les Retro NSC.
  • Effectuer l'analyse post-production des produits publiés et gérer la conversion des documents avec des ressources internes ou externes pour les travaux de développement futurs.
  • Résoudre les problèmes liés aux divergences, aux erreurs et aux omissions dans divers processus, rendre compte des causes profondes et recommander des mesures correctives afin d'assurer une efficacité optimale de la livraison des produits. Il est disposé et apte à travailler sur des projets spéciaux de temps à autre, selon les instructions de la direction.
  • Prendre l'initiative de recommander et de mettre en œuvre des recommandations d'amélioration des processus avec un minimum de contribution de la part de la direction, le cas échéant.
  • Soutenir les opérations de production en effectuant des tâches connexes ou des tâches similaires assignées par la direction.

Formation et expérience souhaitées:

  • Diplôme de l'enseignement supérieur et expérience professionnelle équivalente de trois ans requise (exemple : édition numérique, apprentissage en ligne et/ou expérience professionnelle dans le domaine de la traduction).
  • Maîtrise de Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, XML et HTML, Mathflow/MathML, logiciels de traduction et/ou plateformes d'apprentissage en ligne requise.
  • Une expérience des systèmes de gestion de contenu et des systèmes de gestion des processus (ex. Alfresco) est un atout.
  • Excellent esprit d'équipe, souci du détail et compétences avérées en matière de résolution autonome de problèmes.
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication écrite et orale - communication efficace et professionnelle.
  • Une connaissance pratique des processus de traduction et d'édition, y compris des processus de vente et de distribution et de gestion du matériel, est un atout.
  • Une attention particulière sera accordée aux candidats maîtrisant le français.

Production Coordinator

The Production Coordinator schedules and manages the flow of products through the development process (development, edit, translation, and production including authoring and QA) and ensures readiness for publication/sales. The Production Coordinator is accountable for the integrity of the development process and the quality and timely delivery of products, providing process guidance to CSA staff, committee members, subject matter experts, and external editorial, production, and translation resources. The Production Coordinator ensures the integrity and availability of final products for delivery though CSA's Online Store, subscription service, learning management system and print (if applicable), and acts as a point of contact for all pre- and post-production duties including incorporation of updates, draft conversion, versioning, translation, reaffirmations and file management.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Initial point of contact for project submissions from Standards Development, translation vendors/reviewers, Product Managers and/or external vendors. Responsible for ensuring projects submitted to Product Development are complete, accurate, timely and follow appropriate procedures.
  • Monitors schedules and manages the flow of products through internal and external resources to complete project deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Prioritizes workload, identifies and mitigates project risks
  • Monitors content management system to ensure that metadata and file naming conventions are acceptable within CSA guidelines. Provides corrective guidance where necessary.
  • Assigns work out to external vendors. Reviews quality of work submitted by external resources and takes steps to rectify unsatisfactory submissions.
  • Prepares print specs for all new and revised products and ensures delivery to system/vendor.
  • Responsible for pre-publication/production quality checks of source files.
  • As assigned, responsible for support of CSA's terminology database and translation memory through the coordination and maintenance of translated products using Trados and Trados Groupshare software.
  • Responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of production files, ensures print quality as well as compatibility with current digital rights management tools, validates and uploads final products for next stage work or sales.
  • As required, maintains published documents to reflect any changes during their lifecycle e.g., Reaffirmations, updates, errata, and Retro NSC.
  • Performs post-production analysis of published products and manages document conversion with internal or external resources for future development work.
  • Acts as a problem solver for discrepancies, errors, and omissions in a variety of processes, reports on root causes, and recommends corrective action in order to ensure optimum efficiency of product delivery. Willing and able to work on special projects from time to time as assigned by management.
  • Takes initiative to recommend and implement processes improvement recommendations with minimal input from management as required.
  • Supports production operations with related tasks or similar duties as assigned by Management.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Postsecondary degree/diploma and equivalent 3-year work experience required (example: digital publishing, e-learning, and/or translation work experience).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, XML and HTML, Mathflow/MathML, Translation software, and/or eLearning platforms required.
  • Experience with content management systems and process management systems (ex. Alfresco) is an asset.
  • Strong team player, attention to detail and proven independent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - communicates effectively and professionally.
  • Working knowledge of translation and publishing processes including sales and distribution and materials management processes is an asset.
  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with French proficiency.
