We are seeking a skilled Relief Full Time – Technician/Clerk Medical Device Reprocessing professional to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.
About the JobThis is a unique opportunity to work in a rapidly growing organization with health professionals who are excellent in their respective fields. As a Relief Full Time – Technician/Clerk Medical Device Reprocessing, you will play a critical role in delivering prompt and professional service.
Key Responsibilities- Cleans, decontaminates, checks, tests, assembles, sterilizes and distributes supplies, instruments and equipment related to the Operating Room and other areas of the Hospital.
- Performs related clerical duties, including assisting with recording of workload statistics, answering the telephone, and maintaining records.
- Operates departmental equipment, such as automated washers, cart washer, pasteurizer, ultrasonic washer, clean dryer, heat sealer, and sterilizers.
- Issues and/or delivers supplies when requested, and maintains departmental stock of supplies according to established procedures.
- Participates in routine maintenance of Department's equipment, and participates in the Department's Quality Assurance Program.
- Grade 12, plus successful completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing program, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and ability to deal effectively with others.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, and ability to operate related equipment.
- Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology, and mathematical aptitude.
