When applying, please kindly include a brief note or cover page indicating your interest in the opportunity.

World Vision is a global community working together for one purpose: to change the lives of vulnerable children.

Our supporters, partners and staff join forces with communities on the ground to help children enjoy good health, be educated for life, experience the love of God and their neighbours and are cared for, protected and participating. Together we share proven, world-class development methods to bring food, water, education and economic change. By working with communities to protect children from violence and neglect, caring for them in emergencies, and challenging everyday injustice for the poor, we enable self-sufficient communities to make real, lasting change. Driven by our desire to serve God and make a lasting impact in the world, we’re a team that knows no bounds or borders. Here in Canada, as part of this global effort, our commitment is to bring this purpose to Canadians of all backgrounds, inviting them to join us in our mission for children.

Within the World Vision Partnership structure, World Vision Canada (WVC) is one of the major resource-raising offices (“Support Offices”). As a Support Office, our 425 Canadian staff from across the country are committed to supporting a threefold mandate: to generate resources to support World Vision’s mission through effective and efficient private and public fundraising; to inspire Canadian stakeholders to care about World Vision’s commitment to children around the world and to act through giving, action, learning, advocacy and prayers; and to work with World Vision staff, volunteers, partners and program participants to drive impact for children.

Key Role Aspects

Faith-inspired Collaborative Leadership

World Vision Canada is committed to its mission of following Jesus Christ in service to the world’s most vulnerable children. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead a team of passionate professionals dedicated to making a difference. You will be at the forefront of innovative initiatives that address critical issues such as child sponsorship, community development, and emergency relief. In this role, you will collaborate with a global community of supporters, partners, and staff, all working towards a common goal. The CEO will play a pivotal role in advocating for children’s rights, ensuring their voices are heard, and their needs are met. You will build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, and other non-profit organizations.

Strategic Vision

Drive the organization’s vision and mission forward, ensuring it continues to be a beacon of hope for children and families in need. This role is not just a job; it is a calling to serve and make a tangible difference in the world.

Sustainable Revenue Growth (Including Child Sponsorship)

The President & CEO plays a crucial role in growing sustainable revenue streams. The organization is focused on diversifying its donor base and exploring new business models to ensure long-term financial stability. Your leadership will be key in driving these efforts, ensuring that World Vision Canada continues to have the resources needed to support its vital programs. An important aspect of this role is the growth of child sponsorship, which provides essential sustainable funding.

Digital Transformation

World Vision Canada is undergoing an exciting period of agile and digital transformation. This transformation aims to create a high-performance organization where data insights drive decision-making and execution, enhancing speed and quality. As the CEO, you will embrace and lead this digital transformation, leveraging technology to increase child sponsorship and data insights for private cash donations.

Government and Stakeholder Relationship Cultivation

The CEO is the face of World Vision Canada to all senior government agencies, stakeholders and major donors, and leads the entire organization as it enhances its media and brand profile, actively participating in fundraising campaigns. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with government agencies to advocate for policies that benefit vulnerable children and communities.
