Pinnacle Caterers - Assistant General Manager

Goal
To maintain and build upon the respected reputation of Pinnacle Caterers. Always striving to lead a team of dedicated professionals to push the boundaries of quality and service, leading the club to the highest levels of member satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial success.

Key Components:

  1. Collaborate with the General Manager on critical pathways for the development and enhancement of the club’s service offerings at our new location in the Scotiabank Arena.
  2. Develop and implement steps of service and SOP’s for all FOH positions.
  3. Recruit, hire, and train all staff for the new location, ensuring they meet the high standards of Pinnacle Caterers.
  4. Build a strong rapport with key stakeholders and primary membership holders.

Overall Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, design, and implement new service offerings, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including innovative contributions for Pinnacle Caterers.
  2. Supervise daily operations to ensure seamless service delivery and member satisfaction.
  3. Recognize and maintain superior quality products in food and beverage, presentations, and service.
  4. Develop and implement training programs for new hires to ensure they are well-versed in club policies, service standards, and menu offerings.
  5. Communicate production needs and operational plans to department heads.
  6. Assist in developing daily and seasonal menu items for various service areas.
  7. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and setup of all necessary supplies and inventory.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Employee Engagement and Leadership:

  1. Supervise and coordinate activities of staff engaged in food and beverage preparation and service.
  2. Host daily team briefings focused on engagement, VIP awareness, F&B specials and features, and to ensure standards are being met.
  3. Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision-making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
  4. Manage all day-to-day operations, understanding employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.
  5. Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  6. Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
  7. Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensure employees do the same within the team.
  8. Participate in training staff on service offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and unique aspects of the club’s services.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 5 years’ management experience in a food and beverage establishment, fine dining preferred.
  2. Engaging, personal, professional.
  3. Expert in service standards.
  4. Up to date knowledge of current food and beverage trends and best practices.
  5. Above average knowledge of wines and spirits, culinary techniques.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel; experience with Adobe and InDesign a strong asset.
  7. Adept in POS software.
