Reporting to the Director, Internal Audit with the Corporate Audit team, the Internal Auditor will be responsible for the planning and execution of compliance, financial, and operational audits and special projects. This individual regularly interacts with mid-to-senior level management to discuss and recommend improved business practices. They will be required to support projects from initiation to conclusion, ensuring that controls are adequate and help develop and apply best-in-class practices.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of risk assessments and audit plans;
  • Monitor and test internal processes and compliance controls;
  • Manage and execute risk mitigation projects;
  • Prepare and present audit reports for review;
  • Develop and deploy value-added auditing tools within operating companies;
  • Work on multiple projects at any given point in time;
  • Continuously seek and identify key areas of opportunities;
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years internal audit, public accounting or related business experience is required;
  • Experience with manufacturing companies or within a manufacturing environment is preferred;
  • A post-secondary degree in one of the following is required: accounting, business, or a four-year degree with sufficient courses in accounting and auditing;
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required, or in progress of completing;
  • Professional audit designation (CIA, CISA) considered an asset, or willingness to pursue;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Comfortable communicating in a clear and concise manner;
  • Very curious, with excellent financial acumen and operational understanding;
  • Very hands-on with the ability to leverage data analytics tools to achieve project deliverables;
  • Highly enthusiastic and ambitious;
  • Outgoing with strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to comfortably communicate at all levels;
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
