Business Analyst – Compliance, Regulatory & Data | Circa $110k | Toronto

(Fully remote, until early next year)


Cititec Talent is partnering with a leading global commodities firm that is looking to hire a Business Analyst with expertise in compliance and regulatory reporting, specifically within the commodities trading sector. This role is crucial for ensuring the firm’s adherence to regulatory frameworks while working closely with trading systems and overseeing complex data processes. The company is in an exciting growth phase and is making significant investments in its trading and risk management solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between business teams and IT, gathering and defining requirements for regulatory reporting under frameworks such as CFTC (Dodd-Frank), EMIR (London), and Canadian regulations
  • Manage the flow of compliance-related data across multiple systems, ensuring it is extracted, consolidated, and submitted in line with regulatory obligations
  • Lead initiatives in data mapping and standardisation across various systems and APIs
  • Support trade reporting activities, with a focus on OTC swaps, ensuring seamless integration of data into reporting systems
  • Drive automation projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of compliance reporting processes
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and a team of analysts to ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions
  • Oversee data feeds from trading platforms and work with systems such as K3 Broadpeak to ensure compliance data is processed and submitted correctly


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on regulatory reporting, compliance, and data management
  • Knowledge of commodities trading, OTC swaps, or related financial instruments is highly desirable
  • Strong technical understanding of data systems, API integrations, and data flow management
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting systems, such as K3 Broadpeak or similar platforms
  • A deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks, including CFTC, EMIR, and Dodd-Frank
  • The ability to work independently on data-driven projects while effectively collaborating with compliance and IT teams
