Insight Global is looking for a Business Analyst to join one of Canada's Top 5 Banks for a hybrid role in downtown Toronto. This will be a 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension. The Business Analyst will be sitting in the Enterprise Risk department and will be critical to resolving issues with existing data applications. The BA will cross-collaborate to understand gaps and needs, regulatory requirements, and current architecture/data, and build high-level requirements for a replacement. This individual will be responsible for completing gap analysis and creating process flow and road maps to identify the steps required to update and maintain the pipelines and applications. Collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, such as technology, is essential for this role. The BA will be responsible for interacting and collaborating with the technology team to instruct them on the gaps that need to be fixed. The BA will also take on project management responsibilities throughout the contract, such as managing stages of the maintenance work, creating documentation, and organizing each step required.


The role will include:

- Mapping out regulatory constraints and requirements in this space

- Mapping out classes of securities that the requirements apply to, what systems those securities are recorded in, and what reference/market data we have or can get for these securities

- Describing the potential methods of linking securities to obligor entities, and from then to our client records (to enable the aggregation of credit/counterparty exposures)

- Collecting and documenting/describing the current state solution(s) and gaps/issues that we will need to build a new system

- Building detailed requirements for a new system (after the above points are completed and in consultation with technology partners)


Required Skills

- 4-7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the financial services industry

- Hands-on experience researching and mapping out business requirements from internal and external sources (external being regulatory requirements)

- Experience documenting detailed criteria for business systems (including process and IT components)

- Strong Python skills - Strong SQL and Excel skills

- Experience working within a financial institution

- Experience with Capital Markets/Securities products (Ex/ traded credit, collateral, regulatory reporting, securities master/security static data setup, client static data setup, operational experience in the capital markets space)

- Experience with match & merge and data mastering
