Primary Function:

The Service Delivery Leader (SDL) organizes and leads projects of less than $50,000 (with some exceptions) from inception to completion. The SDL is accountable for defining the project’s scope, completing the work within predetermined timelines, and ensuring the budget targets are met.

In collaboration with various stakeholders, the SDL will ensure that the project’s outcome meets the desired objectives. They will function as the central point of contact for all project-related communications, responsible for the creation and execution of a detailed work plan, managing resources, and providing ongoing monitoring for multiple projects concurrently. The SDL will evaluate and review projects throughout the project’s life-cycle, confirming the work is completed satisfactorily, and ensuring that the necessary measures are taken to execute the work safely.

Job Duties and Tasks:
  1. Plans and oversees the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, defining project scope, deliverables, risks, and requirements in accordance with applicable Customer Standards.
  2. Establishes and maintains working relationships and communications with Clients and service providers; organizes start-up/ongoing status meetings with all project stakeholders.
  3. Implements projects requested via work orders and through approved project plans; generates/prepares Request for Services, Request for Quotations, and all necessary project documentation.
  4. Reviews vendor/contractor value for cost through receipt of quotes/bids and prepares requests for Purchase Orders; inspects contractors' work to ensure compliance and performance.
  5. Validates payment of project-related invoices to ensure costs align with Approved Budgets.
  6. Manages and maintains project schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  7. Responsible for resolving project-specific issues, managing Client expectations, and ensuring Client satisfaction.
  8. Assists in development and training of SDLs and participates in personal development and mandatory training.
  9. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures; responsible for documenting hazards as encountered.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
Decision Making Capacity:
  1. Establish contact with clients and display tact in dealing with confidential information.
  2. Recommend actions that display sound judgement and have both the client’s and business's best interests in mind.
Qualifications:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

The successful candidate will be required to attain and maintain a valid and active RCMP security clearance.

Community college diploma or equivalent training (e.g. RPA, CET).

More than 3 years up to five years job-related experience.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Possess or working towards Project Management Professional (PMP) qualifications.
  • Three to five years of project management work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and strong customer-oriented skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask several projects including competing deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to mitigate and manage project risks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Ability to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, and compliant with all requirements.
  • Ability to influence, persuade and negotiate to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain relationships with all project stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Computer proficiency with recognized database, e-mail and word processing applications.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation:
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Enhanced RCMP clearance may be required.
  • Project Management Institute Accreditation, LEED certification, or equivalent is considered an asset.

This is a unionized role with the BCGEU governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. The rate of pay for this role is $43.96/hr.
