Your Role
Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager with the British Columbia Team. Our Assistant Project Managers get the opportunity to work with the best in the industry and to develop their skills on a diverse range of projects that vary in scope and complexity with the British Columbia business unit.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate experience supporting projects varying in scope and complexity with depth in building and facilities projects in healthcare, education, and commercial mixed-use environments.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced project managers to learn the keys to client satisfaction and successful project delivery on a wide range of projects for private sector clients.
- Provide project support to the Project Manager(s) including schedule updates, progress reports, and preparation of tender and contract documents.
- Engage in on-site organization of contractors and consultants.
- Attend project and site meetings to capture action items.
- Provide a communication path between the Project Manager(s) and contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Provide relief support on other projects when available to do so.
- Ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders Quality Management System.
Qualifications
- Preferably at least 1 year of experience in project management consulting, supporting the delivery of projects in areas such as construction, engineering, or architecture. Previous experience can include summer work terms, co-operative education programs, or internships.
- A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or construction management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
- Familiarity with building codes, contracts and regulations, construction administration, and ethics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A client-centric attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to build harmonious relationships with both internal and external members of the project team.
- Highly cooperative, demonstrates a willingness to assist others, learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Exercises sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Actively working towards obtaining PMP certification.
Approximate Base Salary Range for Role: $60,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD.
Base Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location and reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
