Victoria Capital Regional District, CA Colliers Project Leaders Full time

Overview

At Colliers Project Leaders, we deliver capital project solutions to fulfill our clients’ needs across the built environment. The work we do makes a difference in communities and for the people who live there. We have a passion for it.

Our commitment to realizing our clients' vision inspires us to look beyond the immediate – to the possibilities of what we can achieve together. We are 18,000 projects and counting – improving lives and helping shape the growth of sustainable, progressive, and inclusive communities.

Your role

Join our team as a Project Manager, leading teams to deliver complex capital projects in Municipalities, Regional Districts, and Indigenous Communities across British Columbia.

Based in Vancouver Island and working with communities across the British Columbia Business Unit, you will work with a team of experts who lead major capital building and infrastructure projects. You bring your previous experience leading and delivering infrastructure projects that vary in scope and complexity. You’ve become known as a trusted advisor to your clients and have built strong, lasting relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead programs of work and large capital projects, varying in scope and complexity.
  • Develop strong client relationships and act as the client’s single point of contact throughout the project to achieve the client’s strategy and goals.
  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded on all projects and the client’s best interests are represented with respect to contractual and technical issues.
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of our projects and ensure a high standard of delivery in accordance with our quality management system.
  • Bring innovation and new ideas to the project team and help solve complex problems.
  • Support early project planning and organizational governance that leads to certainty on capital projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to community leaders which may include elected officials on a variety of complex organizational issues.
  • Be a leader and a team player with clients, colleagues, and other project partners.
  • Support intermediate and junior team members with coaching and mentorship to help develop their skills and grow their careers.
  • Be entrepreneurial and support business growth by leading pursuits and developing winning proposals.
Qualifications
  • A proven track record of successfully delivering buildings and/or infrastructure projects from preconstruction stage to close out is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in project management, at least five of those in Canada. Experience as an Owner’s representative is an asset.
  • Experience providing services in all phases of the project lifecycle from inception to close-out.
  • Demonstrated prior experience delivering large, high-profile projects as the lead Project Manager. Completed municipal, regional, Indigenous, provincial, or federal projects considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of the public procurement process.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Experience presenting to boards, councils, and the public is an asset.
  • A demonstrated, thorough understanding and working knowledge of capital project delivery models, including design-build, progressive design-build, construction management, design-bid-build, integrated project delivery, and P3.
  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, or another related field.
  • Project Management Professional designation (PMP).
  • P.Eng. considered an asset.

Approximate Base Salary Range for Role: $75,000 CAD to $110,000 CAD.

Base Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Annual bonus opportunities are in addition to base salary.
