Esri Canada has an excellent opportunity for a GIS Technical Solutions Specialist, who will directly support the sales efforts within Esri Canada’s Pacific Region. This position will report to the Pacific Regional Director and work closely with the Account Managers, Customer Success Managers, Industry Managers and Professional Services Manager to demonstrate ArcGIS based solutions and provide GIS technical advice in a pre-sales capacity to prospective clients, existing clients, and business partners.


GIS Technical Solutions Specialist responsibilities include:

Pre-sales activities are designed to lead to the sale of products and services offered by Esri Canada. These activities are performed during sales calls, site visits, seminars, proposals, trade shows etc


  • Team up with account managers, district manager, customer success and industry managers to provide technical support and generate sales.
  • Advise customers on GIS requirements and strategies, architectures, products selection, and release planning.
  • Leverage existing ArcGIS industry solutions and deliver effective demonstrations of ArcGIS products and solutions that address client business needs and competitive situations.
  • Assist customers on decisions regarding software solutions, professional services’ needs business partner selection, and training requirements.
  • Assist clients and business partners in integrating ArcGIS technology with their respective products and organizational data.


Post-sales activities are designed to continue and expand the use of products and services offered by Esri Canada and generate additional sales, development of good references, creation of customer satisfaction, and enhancement of Esri Canada's image as a solutions provider.


  • Team up with industry managers and account managers to perform regular key account reviews and follow ups.
  • Act as a technical advisor to customers and partners to provide GIS strategy support.
  • Maintain and co-lead the development, delivery, and follow-up of regularly scheduled technical/art of possible sessions to a designated customer portfolio mangaged by a customer success manager.



Specific skill requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ technical experience working with the ArcGIS product.
  • Strong knowledge of GIS solutions including other than the Esri suite.
  • Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS for Server and Desktop software products.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online / Portal.
  • Knowledge of new product offerings specifically related to Natural Resources, Government.
  • Experience in presenting all aspects of Esri technology to analysts and decision makers.
  • University Degree, College Diploma, or relevant experience in a related field of study.

  • Prior developer experience with GIS technology.
  • Prior GIS development and implementation experience.
  • Prior consulting services, sales support or sales engineer experience.
  • Prior knowledge of Forestry, Mining, Government, Transportation, Health, Public Safety, Commercial, AEC.

Elle relèvera de la directrice ou du directeur, Région de Pacifique, et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec les gestionnaires de comptes, les gestionnaires de secteur et la ou le gestionnaire des services professionnels à faire la démonstration des solutions fondées sur ArcGIS et à fournir des conseils techniques en SIG dans le cadre des activités d’avant-vente auprès de clients potentiels, de clients actuels et de partenaires commerciaux.


La ou le spécialiste en solutions technologiques devra mener à bien les tâches suivantes :

Les activités d’avant-vente sont conçues pour mener à la vente des produits et services offerts par Esri Canada. Ces activités sont réalisées dans le cadre de visites de vente, de visites sur place, de séminaires, de propositions et de salons professionnels, entre autres.


  • Faire équipe avec les gestionnaires de comptes et de secteur pour fournir un soutien technique et générer des ventes.
  • Conseiller les clients en matière de SIG sur le plan des exigences, des stratégies, des architectures, de la sélection des produits et de la planification des versions.
  • Exploiter les solutions sectorielles ArcGIS actuelles et faire des démonstrations efficaces des produits et solutions ArcGIS qui répondent aux besoins commerciaux des clients et tiennent compte de leur situation concurrentielle.
  • Aider les clients à prendre des décisions concernant les solutions logicielles, les besoins en services professionnels, la sélection des partenaires commerciaux et les exigences en matière de formation.
  • Aider les clients et les partenaires commerciaux à intégrer la technologie ArcGIS à leurs produits respectifs et à leurs données organisationnelles.


Les activités d’après-vente sont conçues pour poursuivre et étendre l’utilisation des produits et services offerts par Esri Canada et générer des ventes supplémentaires, le développement de bonnes références, la satisfaction du client et le renforcement de l’image d’Esri Canada en tant que fournisseur de solutions.


  • Faire équipe avec les gestionnaires de secteur et de comptes pour effectuer des examens et des suivis réguliers des comptes clés.
  • Agir en tant que conseiller technique auprès des clients et des partenaires pour fournir un soutien en matière de stratégie SIG.
  • Maintenir et co-diriger le développement, la livraison et le suivi de sessions techniques/art du possible régulièrement programmées pour un portefeuille de clients désigné et géré par un responsable de la réussite des clients.


Formation, expérience et aptitudes nécessaires

  • Au moins trois ans d’expérience technique de travail avec les produits ArcGIS.
  • Solide connaissance des solutions SIG, y compris autres que la suite Esri.
  • Expérience avec les logiciels ArcGIS Server et Desktop d’Esri.
  • Expérience avec ArcGIS Online et Portal.
  • Connaissance des nouvelles offres de produits spécifiquement liées aux ressources naturelles et au gouvernement.
  • Expérience dans la présentation de tous les aspects de la technologie Esri à des analystes et à des décideurs.
  • Diplôme universitaire, diplôme d’études collégiales ou expérience pertinente dans un domaine d’études connexe.
