Our insurance client is seeking a motivated Bilingual (French/English) Claims Manager to join their growing team. In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, and determine the eligibility of claims related to short-term and long-term disability cases. This is a remote position within Canada


Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and evaluate claims based on medical information, job requirements, and contract terms within established service standards.
  • Manage active claims duration using best practices.
  • Conduct interviews with claimants and employers via telephone to gather necessary information.
  • Document all customer communication accurately and promptly.
  • Create detailed case management plans for each file, focusing on a safe and sustainable return to work.
  • Collaborate with treating physicians and employers, challenging when necessary.
  • Make referrals for independent medical assessments and alternate insurance organizations.
  • Work with return-to-work facilitators to design and monitor programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to exchange ideas and offer solutions.
  • Proactively communicate claim status and developments to customers.
  • Ensure positive file resolutions and appropriate outcomes.


Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required.
  • Experience in disability claim management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and Disability Management best practices.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply policy terms and adjudication guidelines.
  • Familiarity with provincial employment legislation.
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
