About the role

We are looking for a Scientific Computing Specialist with expertise in machine learning and inverse problems to join our team. In this role, you will apply advanced computational techniques to real-world scientific and engineering challenges. You'll work closely with a team of experts in physics, geophysics, and applied mathematics to develop and implement innovative solutions.

What you'll do

  • Develop and apply computational algorithms for inverse problems and machine learning applications.
  • Work with large-scale datasets, optimizing performance for complex numerical models.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine scientific computing solutions.
  • Contribute to research, publications, and real-world applications in geophysics and related fields.

What we are looking for

  • Education: Master's or PhD in physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise: Strong background in scientific computing, machine learning, and inverse problems.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience (or equivalent in academia) working on relevant computational problems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Julia, MATLAB, or other scientific computing languages.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a small, interdisciplinary team.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Location: Based in Vancouver, BC, or willing to relocate.
  • Work Authorization: Canadian resident or legal right to work in Canada.
  • Position: Full-time.
