About the Role
We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in HPC and data science to join our team. You'll develop and optimize ML models for scientific applications, working with large-scale datasets and computationally intensive problems . While experience in computer vision is highly valued, an understanding of geospatial data is a bonus.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and optimize machine learning models for scientific and geospatial applications.
- Work with high-performance computing (HPC) environments on AWS to accelerate computations.
- Develop and enhance computer vision algorithms for real-world applications.
- Build efficient data processing pipelines to handle large-scale datasets.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate ML solutions into existing workflows.
- Ensure scalability and performance in ML model deployment and data infrastructure.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Master's degree in geophysics, natural sciences, physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fields .
- Expertise: Strong background in machine learning, high-performance computing (HPC) on AWS, and data science .
- Experience: Practical experience in computer vision (preferred) and knowledge of geospatial data (a bonus).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, C++, CUDA, TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS HPC, and distributed computing .
- Data Science Skills: Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and large-scale data handling .
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a small, interdisciplinary team .
- Communication: Strong personal and professional communication skills.
- Location: Based in Vancouver, BC .
- Work Authorization: Canadian resident or legal right to work in Canada.
- Position: Full-time.
