About the Role

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer  with expertise in HPC and data science  to join our team. You'll develop and optimize ML models for scientific applications, working with large-scale datasets and computationally intensive problems . While experience in computer vision  is highly valued, an understanding of geospatial data  is a bonus.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and optimize machine learning models  for scientific and geospatial applications.
  • Work with high-performance computing (HPC) environments on AWS  to accelerate computations.
  • Develop and enhance computer vision algorithms  for real-world applications.
  • Build efficient data processing pipelines  to handle large-scale datasets.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate ML solutions into existing workflows.
  • Ensure scalability and performance  in ML model deployment and data infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

  • Education:  Master's degree in geophysics, natural sciences, physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related fields .
  • Expertise:  Strong background in machine learning, high-performance computing (HPC) on AWS, and data science .
  • Experience:  Practical experience in computer vision  (preferred) and knowledge of geospatial data  (a bonus).
  • Technical Skills:  Proficiency in Python, C++, CUDA, TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS HPC, and distributed computing .
  • Data Science Skills:  Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and large-scale data handling .
  • Collaboration:  Ability to work effectively in a small, interdisciplinary team .
  • Communication:  Strong personal and professional communication skills.
  • Location:  Based in Vancouver, BC .
  • Work Authorization:  Canadian resident or legal right to work in Canada.
  • Position:  Full-time.
