Basic Purpose:

Reporting to the BTS Manager Technical Services, the role of Sr Infrastructure Analyst is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operations of all information systems that support organizational functions, both on premise and cloud based. Some travel may be required to facilities to resolve issues or conduct project work – Main location is Mississauga- L4Y 1S4


Sr Infrastructure Analyst will be responsible for proactively monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all server class infrastructure that is found on-premises as well as in the cloud. The purview of the Sr. Infrastructure Analyst role includes ensuring physical stability, logical stability, and basic networking stability of the aforementioned systems. He or she will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.


The Sr Infrastructure Analyst will provide support normally managed by Infrastructure 1 and 2 associates on an asneeded basis to manage sudden spikes in requests, project needs or position vacancies. This support is specifically defined as the proactive monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all workstation class infrastructure (desktops, laptops, industrial PCs, thin clients) and peripheral components (telecom, MFP, computer interfacing purpose-built tools).


Essential Responsibilities / Specific Duties:

Strategy & Planning

Collaborate with IT team to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

Work with team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements andsystems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.

Aid in establishing long term road map to ensure high availability, efficiency, security and cost effectiveness of current and proposed technical offerings.

Operational Management

Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to support existing and future platforms.

Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.

Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.

Provide technical expertise and support in the area on sophisticated server/storage hardware in a virtualized environment.

Install, set up, and support all hardware and software operating systems for application servers.

Diagnose and recommend solutions for hardware and software problems that occur on application server systems.

Set up and monitor all daily backup systems for application databases and ensure integrity of all backup functions through the review of daily log reports. Take remedial action in the case of a malfunction.

Participate in after-hours support

Perform tasks that may be outside of the scope of the above as defined by the manager

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Key Competencies

. Design, implement and manage Azure infrastructure solutions with focus on networking components, security such as Virtual Networks, Gateways, S2S implementation.

. Implement network cloud security such as Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall, Web application firewall.

. Possess a deep understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles and best practices relating to Entra ID and other authentication services.

. Plan and implement identity governance using tools such as Privilege Identity Management, Access Reviews, MFA, Conditional Access Policies.

. Proficient in developing and implementing Cloud security policies through Microsoft Defender solutions such as MDE, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policies, SIEM tools such as MS Sentinel.

. Highly skilled at managing various Azure technologies such as VNet Engineering, Azure Storage accounts, Azure Function/logic apps, Synapse, Azure Data factory and web apps.

. Design and implement backup and recovery process for Cloud resources.

. Strong knowledge and experience with MS O365, Intune, DLP and Azure Hybrid environments.

. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools like terraform, Azure Biceps, Azure blueprint, ARM templates.

. Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new cloud-based solutions and technologies to improve system performance, efficiency, cost, and reliability.

. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V)

Strong communication, written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with a willingness to ‘own’ issuesand their respective solutions.

Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.

Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
