Canadian Forces Supply System Technician

Position Description:

  • Subject matter expert for the Department of National Defence (DND), Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) operations within the designated warehouse at GDLS‐C
  • Provide advice on DRMIS to Departmental leadership
  • Provide status and updates to Government Property Operations (GP OPS) Supervisor
  • Point of contact for all Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS) matters within designated warehouse
  • Assist in distributing daily workload within CFSS group
  • Execute DRMIS transactions for designated contract including, but not limited to, orders, receipts, issues, movements, discrepancies, TECOs, etc.
  • Execute Oracle transactions required to facilitate receipt, utilization, and movements of applicable material
  • Maintain a number of internal record and tracking documents utilizing Microsoft office suit i.e. workbooks, Receipt Tracker, etc.
  • Coordinate with sub‐contractor warehouse as required
  • Coordinate and communicate with customer counterparts such as DND Quality Assurance (NDQAR), Supply Managers, DRMIS Auditors, and DND Depot Staff
  • Liaise with Service Representative contacts for material support
  • Create, review, and update internal work instruction and reference documents
  • Be able to read and interpret DND documents such as the Supply Administration Manual (SAM)
  • Hold and maintain a level 2 security clearance and a restricted possession and acquisition licence (RPAL) for access facilitation to weapons vaults
  • Coordinate with Material Handlers and Recovery Analyst for material disposition support
  • Any other duties as identified by Supervisor and Area Manager

Required Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in relevant discipline or 3‐5 years' equivalent experience in a Defense supportability related field
  • Must possess or able to obtain Secret Level II Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and decision‐making skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products, particularly in Excel
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MRP, ERP Enterprise systems, including Oracle
  • DND CFSS DRIMIS experience and awareness of DND supply procedures
  • Understanding of contract administration and project management skills
  • Ability to travel (5% Canadian and 5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervision experience in shop floor environment
  • PMP certification
  • Knowledge of production material control processes and logistics
