Are you an experienced Human Resources professional ready to make a significant impact? We are seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our team as the Human Resources Business Partner for a 1-year maternity leave position. In this pivotal role, you will lead and administer various HR functions, ensuring our workforce is aligned with our strategic goals and fostering a positive company culture.

Reporting to the CEO, you'll play a key role in driving our success by attracting top-tier talent, promoting employee growth, and nurturing a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts, collaborating with division heads to identify staffing needs, crafting compelling job descriptions, and employing innovative strategies to attract top-tier talent. Oversee the entire recruitment process, from candidate sourcing and screening to interview coordination and selection.
  • Onboarding: Develop and execute a comprehensive staff orientation program, providing newcomers with an in-depth understanding of our company's values, goals, and operational practices. Manage onboarding procedures, ensuring new hires seamlessly integrate into the organization and facilitating a smooth transition process.
  • Employee Relations: Be a go-to resource for employees, addressing their concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a harmonious work environment. Promote open lines of communication between management and employees, acting as a bridge to address concerns, clarify expectations, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Position Development: Create and finalize Job Description | Position Profiles that accurately reflect the responsibilities and qualifications required for each role.
  • Performance Management: Facilitate and manage performance review process that promote employee growth and align with company objectives. Contribute to nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and development.
  • Employment Offers and Payroll Support: Draft and finalize clear, comprehensive employment offer letters, outlining terms and conditions effectively. Support payroll processes and benefits coordination, maintaining seamless communication with the Payroll Department regarding updates on new hires, terminations, and employee pay deductions for each pay period.
  • Company Culture & Organizational Structure: Champion our company culture by instilling values and cultivating an inclusive atmosphere. Participate in shaping and optimizing the organizational structure to ensure streamlined operations and effective communication.
  • Operational Support: Enhance operational efficiency by collaborating with departments to streamline processes. Provide valuable assistance in developing workflows and creating effective communication materials.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in Alberta employment standards, Human Rights, and Occupational Health and Safety, providing guidance to ensure compliance and best practices across the organization. Participate actively as a member of the Health & Safety Committee to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related Human Resources generalist experience.
  • CPHR designation or active pursuit thereof is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
