Planning & Preparation Teachers

Permanent & Occasional Teaching positions

The LDCSB has occasional and permanent Planning and Preparation positions available at various elementary schools across the district, ranging from part-time to 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE). Successful candidates to this posting may have a choice of location(s) and FTE. The Planning and Preparation teacher is responsible for the Health and Physical Education curriculum for Grades 1-3, and Health and Physical Literacy for Kindergarten.

The London District Catholic School Board believes that recruiting and selecting Catholic teachers, who will serve the spiritual, academic, physical, emotional, aesthetic, and social needs of students, is of paramount importance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a Bachelor of Education Degree and must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

Primary / Junior qualifications required

Previous elementary teaching experience preferred

Have a working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession

Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate or equivalent

A practicing Catholic with an active Catholic Faith life

Proficient knowledge & understanding of Ontario curriculum, evaluation & assessment techniques

Current in understanding of research, integrating technology and best instructional practices

Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment for all student

A minimum of three relevant references i.e. placement Principals, placement teachers, previous or current employers
