Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and care for individuals living with Parkinson’s in Southwestern Ontario. PSSO serves as a hub for services, workshops, and support groups, creating a supportive and inclusive community for those affected by Parkinson’s Disease. With a focus on education and research, PSSO aims to raise awareness and provide the necessary resources to improve the lives of individuals with Parkinson’s. Located in London, ON, PSSO is committed to creating the best community for everyone living with Parkinson’s in Southwestern Ontario.


Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as an Events and Volunteer Coordinator at Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario. The coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as volunteer training, volunteer management, community outreach, and communication. The coordinator will work closely with the team to organize events and coordinate volunteer activities. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities.


Qualifications

  • University or College graduate
  • Minimum of two (2) years progressive fundraising experience with a proven track record in event management
  • Volunteer Training, Volunteer Management, and Community Outreach skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate
  • Experience in event coordination including obtaining and growing sponsorships
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software
  • Experience in the non-profit sector or with community organizations is a plus
  • Education in event management, communications, or a related field is desirable
  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge and Better Impact database systems
  • Ability to travel, access to a car and holds a valid Driver's Licence
