Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will support an active major heavy civil MTO project.


Primary Scope of Role :


  • Participating in both internal and external meetings with the client and team members. Reponsible for keeping detail records and follow up on action items.
  • Ensures project is constructed according to design, budget and schedule
  • Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety and quality control
  • Interfaces with project team, subcontractors and related third parties
  • Monitors and inspects project site to maintain a safe work environment and provides leadership to ensure policies, procedures and standards are followed
  • Coordinates, provides guidance and reviews the implementation of the work plans with the other team members
  • Oversees project closeout
  • Maintaining and communicating project information through several forums including project website, phone, and E-mail.
  • Interfaces with traffic and environmental teams to communicate traffic impacts and environmental consultation


Position Requirements:


  • A EIT or CET designation is preferred.
  • Previous experience with estimating, quantity take-off’s using digital software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience is desired.
  • Experience on road or excavation construction projects is desired.
  • Experience in coordinating construction projects.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills..
