We are looking for a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Process Engineer at our Niagara PVC plant located in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Description:
  1. Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products as our highest priority.
  2. Identify, evaluate, develop, specify, justify, install, and start-up process improvements to:
    1. Increase production capacity
    2. Improve operating reliability
    3. Reduce manufacturing costs
    4. Reduce energy usage
    5. Improve sustainability
    6. Conserve raw materials
    7. Improve product yields
    8. Improve product quality
  3. Participate in any opportunity to enhance safety, upgrade environmental safeguards, and provide for the overall optimization of process operation.
  4. Provide ongoing engineering assistance to operations including troubleshooting of process operating problems, conducting special tests, developing reports, providing technical assistance as required, and reporting of production status.
  5. Provide coordination between the Production, Project, Maintenance, and Corporate Engineering Departments regarding capital project implementation including preparation of AFE's.
  6. Represent and/or assist production and engineering in matters of evaluation, selection, coordination, and control of vendors supplying necessary operating services, consulting services, materials, equipment, and other needs of operation.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering with relevant experience in a chemical/manufacturing environment.
  2. Commitment to safety and environmental considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability.
  3. Ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of plant and corporate personnel in a multi-disciplined team environment.
  4. Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision but deliver superior results.
  5. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  6. Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  7. High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  11. Ability to work weekends, holidays, and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
  12. Physical requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, and stooping are required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator and be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
  1. PVC manufacturing experience.
  2. Good working knowledge of SAP.
  3. Proficiency in engineering software packages such as OSI PI ProcessBook, ASPEN, PipeFlo, iPRISM software.
  4. Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management requirements and process risk analysis (PHA, LOPA, Fault Tree Analysis, Relief valve sizing calculations).
  5. Distributed Control Systems (DCS) programming, Delta V.
  6. Understanding of the MOC (Management of Change) program.
