At OxyChem, we are committed to excellence in chemical manufacturing. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer to join our team at our Niagara PVC plant in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees, customers, and the community.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase production capacity, improve operating reliability, and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Participate in safety and environmental initiatives to enhance the overall optimization of process operation.
  • Provide engineering assistance to operations, including troubleshooting, conducting special tests, and reporting production status.
  • Coordinate with production, project, maintenance, and corporate engineering departments on capital project implementation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with relevant experience in a chemical/manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental considerations in engineering design, recommendations, and operability.
  • Ability to communicate with a broad spectrum of plant and corporate personnel in a multi-disciplined team environment.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PVC manufacturing experience.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP.
  • Proficiency in engineering software packages such as OSI PI ProcessBook, ASPEN, PipeFlo, and iPRISM software.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management requirements and process risk analysis.
