Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a Senior Liaison, Third Party Submittals


This position is a full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.


Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for meeting project’s goals and objectives as they pertain to all Third-Party Submittals. It will include responsibility for supporting the coordination of all delivery elements related to Interface between the Project and the Third-Party Stakeholders, mainly but not limited to; City of Toronto and TTC. This is to ensure complete and timely delivery of the Submittals exchanged between all internal and external stakeholders. You will directly be reporting on progress to PLAA & Lands Manager. You shall have in depth knowledge of design principles and submission processes specifically for rail and transit projects and have a firm understanding of intricacies of Municipal Design Review Processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Planning and tracking of all open submittals supporting the City of Toronto’s future Permits
  • Reviewing Design Team’s Submittals for completeness, accuracy and initial compliance
  • Managing the Delivery of Submittals based on Project’s schedule
  • Reporting on any deviation from Schedule or Master Submittals List
  • Coordinate with Design Team’s designate for timely disposition and closure of open comments
  • Supporting the facilitation of Technical Meetings with the stakeholders and follow ups
  • Developing the tracker of Submittals, RACI Matix and CRS database
  • Supporting the monthly progress reports and PLAA Dashboard updates
  • Understanding of Metrolinx Design Review Processes (Schedule 10)
  • Supporting PLAA team with updates and information for their permits and approvals needs
  • Identify issues, risks and potential delays by proactively communicating with project teams using regular and timely reporting and/or meetings as required
  • Oversee, track and review outstanding documents, actions, and requests to facilitate the progress of project on target to meet schedule delivery deadlines, and escalating problems for resolution
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the PLAA manager pertaining the project’s work


Qualifications

  • Completion of a university degree in Planning, Architecture, Engineering or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Possession of a Professional designations such as PMP, BCIN, OPPI, OAA, PEO, or OACETT is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the industry, either in the public or private sector, and preferably working within an infrastructure/transit project environment
  • Knowledge of the relevant acts and regulations to Building, Planning and Transit.
  • Strong political acumen, tactfulness and negotiation skills in hard situations
  • Direct working experience with or inside City of Toronto is a strong preference
  • Highly skilled in exercising tact, initiative, and resourcefulness to draft, negotiate, or amend agreements and contracts.


Additional Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements, third party permits and approval processes, environmental and property approvals pertinent to large projects.
  • Sound judgement, excellent problem-solving abilities, and exceptional attention to details
  • Highly developed interpersonal and excellent communication skills to deal with complex multi-disciplinary issues.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, negotiation, oral/written/presentation skills to negotiates fees, contractual terms and agreements, obtain approvals and handle contractual claims.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple and changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of alternative project delivery methods, including P3 and Progressive design build is necessary
  • Working knowledge of land development principles, regulations and practices is considered an asset.
