Position Overview:


We are recruiting a Pension and Benefits Team Lead, Global Shared Services, based in Vaughan, ON. The successful incumbent will be the SME (Subject matter expert) on Redpath's benefit and pension programs in Canada and the US and potentially for other countries within the Redpath Group, driving continuous process efficiencies and optimization. In addition, you will be supervising a small team and be accountable for the team's KPI and reporting.


  • Responsible for compiling all pertinent federal, state and provincial documentation for Canada and the US
  • Administer and maintain records and reconciliations for 401K plans (US)
  • Provide new-hire orientations, including the enrollment process for benefits, pensions, savings, and Insurance schemes
  • Manage, coordinate and process daily benefits tasks
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records
  • Maintain and create records, reports, and documentation by regulatory jurisdictions
  • Resolve benefit-related issues and respond to queries and requests promptly
  • Collaborate with payroll and ensure that employer contributions and payroll deductions are processed accurately and promptly
  • Train and inform employees of the details of the company's benefit programs
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans
  • Provide customer service support to internal customers, such as ensuring employees know what benefits are offered by the company, responding to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
  • Develop communication and training tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package
  • Reviewing and reconciling vendor invoices, resolving disputes, and reporting on fees and costs
  • Communicating and acting as an operational point of contact for insurance, plan vendors, third-party, and savings providers to escalate and resolve issues
  • Compile pension financial statements, manage and support internal and external audits
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures and SOP for benefits-related processes.


Position Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Pension and Benefits Administrator for US and Canada’s plans.
  • 3 years in a supervisory role leading a team
  • CEBS certification preferred
  • Payroll Certification is an asset
  • Experience working in Payroll (i.e. ADP, Ceridian), Benefits & Pension platforms, and ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-changing and dynamic environment with evolving systems and processes
  • Demonstrated experience implementing special initiatives such as process improvements, outsourcing to external providers, automation, systems conversion, change of vendors, KPI and change management
