We are looking for a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Process Supervisor at our Niagara PVC plant located in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides supervision, direction and leadership to the Distribution department.
  2. Leads, organizes and supervises shift operations and personnel to maintain and ensure safe, efficient ordering and distribution of products/supplies.
  3. Supervises the Distribution and Pigment department staff on a twelve-hour shift basis.
  4. Plans and organizes training activities in the Distribution and Pigment Areas.
  5. Reviews departmental position objectives and maintenance schedules.
  6. Reviews production plans with the Resin production team and Traffic Coordinator.
  7. Reviews, organizes, and maintains records of all daily Distribution and Pigment/Raw Material forms.
  8. Ensures plant compliance with all Corporate Oxy Transportation and Distribution work practices and procedures.
  9. Liaises with Oxy Vinyls management team and assists employees with the interpretation of various policies and procedures.
  10. Works with Distribution Lead Techs and Pigment Operators to implement daily operations.
  11. Liaises with Human Resources to resolve related issues or concerns.
  12. Communicates Distribution and Pigment issues to the department Supervisor/Manager.
  13. Conducts periodic VCM car checks for AVCM in the rail yard with staff.
  14. Provides support to the Production Superintendent and Production Engineer for management of activities in the Resin Production Area.

Safety Program Execution

  1. Determines HSE hazards related to tasks in the Distribution and Pigment areas.
  2. Monitors and enforces plant safety rules and requirements.
  3. Conducts daily work activities in support of HSE objectives and policies.
  4. Interacts with the plant Safety Specialist and attends safety seminars.
  5. Implements safety rules and programs with maintenance action items.
  6. Maintains training required to perform duty as Incident Commander for the Fire Brigade Team.

Environmental Compliance

  1. Interacts with the Environmental Department and understands the Ministry of Environment guidelines.
  2. Communicates operating practices and strategies to distribution personnel.

Troubleshooting

  1. Interacts with process engineers, maintenance and management.
  2. Communicates malfunctions and their resolution to management.

Quality Management

  1. Interprets QM philosophy and procedures.
  2. Develop strategies to promote the concept and acceptance of QM processes.

Qualifications

Education: Successful completion of a Community College diploma in related field of study preferably in a (STEM) program or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Experience: Related plant experience in a Distribution and/or Production department with a focus on supply chain management.

Must have previous experience with Health and Safety practices and procedures in a manufacturing environment, ideally a chemical processing facility.
