Overview:

To ensure the efficient functioning of the Meat department, providing customers with the best quality meat products, ensuring courteous, timely customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. To direct and supervise all meat staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service.
  2. Ensure production is moved efficiently from the receiver to the meat cutter and then to the wrapper.
  3. To respond immediately to any customer inquiries, requests and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.
  4. To maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales’ goals and budgets are met.
  5. To hire all part-time staff and train new employees.
  6. To schedule all meat clerks ensuring the strict control of wage costs.
  7. To interpret and administer Company policy and ensure compliance with the union contract.
  8. Responsible for maintaining the condition of all fresh counters, freezers and coolers.
  9. To ensure the safety and sanitation of the department.
The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:
  1. Experience cutting meat in a retail setting.
  2. Exceptional Customer Service Skills.
  3. Flexibility to work a variety of hours which include days, evenings, night shifts, and weekends.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Accept responsibility for fresh meat production.
  6. Three to five years’ experience in the retail meat industry.
  7. Prior management experience a definite asset.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
