About the Opportunity:


Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Analytics and through the Manager to the Director, Analytics, the Research and Statistics Officer has primary responsibility to the Nova Scotia Health Authority to support the mission, vision and strategic directions by assisting in the establishment and implementation of performance measurement tools that can be used throughout the organization.


The Research and Statistics Officer position supports and enhances the use of evidence-based decision making through the provision of information and analytics in tailored, audience-specific reports.

The Research and Statistics Officer provides support for the development and implementation of operational and performance measurement initiatives to be used throughout the organization.

This involves assessing information needs and investigating and assessing the usefulness and feasibility of proposed measures and potential data collection processes.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in health information, health services research, engineering, or other health-related field or Diploma in Health Information Management and
  • 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using Tableau Visualization software or similar
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft products to analyze and present results
  • Advanced knowledge of performance measurement, report writing and information analysis, indicator development and evaluation principles and techniques, combined with strong research, information synthesis, interpretation and report writing skills are essential
  • Experience in databases and analytics software would be an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Must be a critical thinker and be able to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize workload at times of competing deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and decision making skills
  • Sound understanding of partnership relationships in dealing with sensitive data
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
