Position Summary


Working with and under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Manager, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement (MCSE) is responsible for all communications and engagement strategies, tactics and initiatives at CAPR.

The MCSE will work cross-functionally to ensure CAPR's strategic objectives and initiatives are supported with strong communication and engagement plans, engaging with the Leadership Team, the Evaluation Services teams and the chairs of the CAPR Board, its committees and working groups.


The MCSE manages the communications aspect of key operational and strategic initiatives and projects, identifies trends, and monitors and evaluates communications reach and effectiveness.

This position is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to CAPRs values and strategic goals and leveraging a 360-degree understanding of the organization and its objectives.


The MCSE will plan, develop, implement and evaluate all communications and stakeholder engagement and initiatives, with a view to building positive relationships with key external stakeholders and advancing the strategic goals and evolving needs of the CAPR.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Develops and maintains a strategic communications framework and ensures the integration of best communication practices
  • Leads organizational brand management including but not limited to: developing, and maintaining brand standards
  • Develops resources for key stakeholders and ensures compliance with consistency of messaging
  • Envisions and recommends new and revised practices for stakeholder and community engagement and education

Communications

  • Responsible for all aspects of the CAPR communications strategy including the preparation of an annual communications operational plan and content development in support of CAPR's objectives
  • Develops effective key messages for strategic projects including script for leaders and Board members and implements organizational messaging plans
  • Responsible for development and growth of online strategies, adopting best and leading practices, and identifying opportunities
  • Responsible for the project management of all functions of communications including internal briefings, marketing campaigns and publications
  • Develops strategies, schedules, formats and datarich lists to engage all stakeholders
  • Manages the social media platforms, the website and other communication methods/platforms
  • Proactively generates content ideas for all communication channels
  • Conducts and reports on interviews and creates stories, both written and video, for various CAPR communication platforms

Writing, Editing and Copyediting

  • Distills and synthesizes complex information for communication to a range of audiences
  • Writes, edits and oversees preparation of reports to support the Leadership Team and committees
  • Provides copy editing for externally shared material and is the 'final set of eyes' on all CAPR internal and external works

Media Relations

  • Sources media training and executes on training of key representatives including the CEO, the President of the Board and others, as needed
  • Monitors media for content related to competency assessment in general and physiotherapy in particular; performs media analysis and recommends strategies and actions
