The Category Manager for Collaborative Learning is responsible for developing and growing our portfolio solutions that transform school education with immersive and interactive learning experiences.

You will be at the heart of EdTech innovation, such as Virtual Reality, Robotics, 3D Print, and many other products and solutions that ignite curiosity, foster student collaboration, and enhance learning outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you possess a unique blend of passion for education and strong business acumen.

You will act as a visionary for the future of education and strive to create solutions that spark students' imagination leading to better engagement with technology.

At the same time, you will be able to translate what's possible into a pragmatic business plan and clear value proposition to educators.

You can deliver inspiring product presentations to educators and annual category reviews to Bluum senior leadership.

Responsibilities
Product and Partner Management

  • Represent category at various EdTech events by engaging attendees and potential customers on Bluum Collaborative Learning solution portfolio.
  • Generate insights from market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to formulate category portfolios and focus areas; strive to match educators' needs with product offerings and Bluum differentiators.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with vendor partners adopting a wintogether attitude; formulate a clear and compelling solution positioning that resonates with our sellers and education customers.
  • Collaborating with vendor partners, develop and execute comprehensive product marketing programs, including accounts mapping, customer offers, sales incentives, sales training, webinars, and events.
  • Spearhead product offers that involve a unique combination of reasontobuy and reasontosell elements and collateral information.
  • Represent category at various EdTech events by engaging attendees and potential customers on Bluum Collaborative Learning solution portfolio.
Sales Engagement

  • Support Sales Enablement teams with SME knowledge by regularly curating content, coordinating, and codelivering vendor and product training.
  • Support Sales by responding to inquiries, assisting with deal registrations, attending presales customer calls, and actively helping sellers to develop opportunities and close deals.
  • Establish periodic cadence with regional sales leaders and their teams to share market insights, category direction, new product launches and lifecycle updates, and gather customer insights.
  • Collaborating with peers across the organization contributes to producing product marketing activities and assets, including assisting in copywriting, events management and speaking engagements.
  • Evolve internal product information portal for easy access by the sales teams that will guide sales efforts and provide information for customers.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian University is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with EdTech technology in sales, procurement, or training capacity.
  • Experience as an educator is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of product management or category management experience in a multivendor environment at a retailer, distributor, EdTech provider or reseller.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiation achieving differentiation and favorable outcomes.
  • Proven track record of managing categories and gotomarket activities in concert with crossfunctional teams.
  • Track record of building and presenting proposals internally and externally, as well as engaging in public speaking internally and externally.
  • High aptitude to stay current and train on related technology areas is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing; ability to copy write solution briefs.
  • Ability to travel within the US and Canada of up to 25% of time.
