Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences

Position Summary:

  • Compile and study existing groundwater data from Peru, particularly the Ancash Province.
  • Conduct Hydrogeology research using data from Peruvian Government sources.
  • Interact with Peruvian colleagues to create database of Ancash groundwater.
  • The data will then be analyzed using statistical and numerical modeling approaches.
  • Some Literature search

Qualifications:

  • BSc degree in Earth System Science
  • Hydrogeology knowledge
  • Research experience in Latin America
  • Data analysis skills
  • Peru fieldwork experience an asset
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Has completed an Independent Study on the same topic as the RA
  • Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 04.
