Job Title: Research Assistant

Job Summary:

The Centre de recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM) is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team in the Cancer Axis. As a Research Assistant, you will work under the supervision of Dr. Saima Hassan in her translational research laboratory focused on breast cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, western blots, and mice handling (including surgeries for tumor implantations and drug treatments)
  • Handle and analyze patient samples, including blood samples for ctDNA, DNA/RNA extraction
  • Assist in lab management tasks, data analysis, and project coordination
  • Teach techniques to graduate and undergraduate students within the lab
  • Contribute to writing abstracts, posters/presentations for conferences, and manuscripts in English

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Background in cancer research
  • Minimum of one first-authored publication
  • Good knowledge of French and English

What We Offer:

  • Full-time position, 35 hours per week, daytime from Monday to Friday (with occasional weekends)
