Job Description:


Reporting into the Head of Corporate Data & Analytics, the VP Treasury Model Development is responsible for leading a team of team of financial engineers and data science professionals.

The team works closely with Treasury and Balance Sheet Management to develop and maintain advanced predictive analytics, quantitative methodology and modelling solutions in support of structural interest rate risk measurement and management, funds transfer pricing, liquidity, stress testing and financial resource management.


Key accountabilities include:

  • Accountable for model and methodology development and prototyping in support of technology system development and testing of aggregator models and measurement processes;
  • Design and develop prototypes for quantitative hedging and hedgeaccounting strategies including P&L and hedge effectiveness attribution
  • Develop quantitative tools to support portfolio performance measurement analytics and optimize balance sheet financial resource allocation
  • Implement and demonstrate compliance with 1B Model Management Standards and Practices consistent with the Bank's Model Risk Policy Framework and to meet Regulator Expectations including those for: Quantitative and qualitative model development and documentation and system implementation testing and change control.
  • Perform model performance monitoring including back testing to demonstrate the ongoing accuracy and completeness of data feeds, model outputs and reports produced;
  • Maintain an inventory of modelling, methodology and key assumptions for demonstrating completeness of estimation approaches in place for all balance sheet line items
  • Provides input into ALM/FTP/Liquidity frameworks and strategies, TBSM technology & data roadmaps.
  • Maintain regulatory, academic and industry relationships

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Mathematics, or a related field;
  • Ten or more years experience in quantitative financial modelling is highly desirable;
  • Deep knowledge of Financial Markets, Fixed Income, Derivative Instruments and Treasury concepts;
  • Excellent communication skills including an ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders;
  • Strong leadership skills that will result in attracting, retaining and developing a high performing team;
  • Well developed understanding of model governance frameworks and policies including model monitoring and documentation requirements.
  • Proven analytical and problemsolving skills including the implementation of new techniques and approaches to developing estimation approaches.
