Job Summary:

The Facilities Advisor is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operational delivery of facilities services to both Agencies.

The incumbent acts as the operational lead with respect to the facilities helpdesk services, physical security, ergonomic services, design, and space planning pertaining to space modifications.

The main focus is client delivery, and creating and maintaining a business structure, which includes standard procedures and processes, performance metrics and service level expectations.

Ensures the primary and sustained liaison with other CAS divisions and tenant services and external consultants to ensure integrated and collaborative efforts in addressing facilities requirements.

Supervises and provide leadership, coaching and delegation of work to direct reports.

Statement of Qualifications:

Education:

University degree or college diploma in interior architectural design, or diploma of technician in architectural design
All combinations of relevant experience and education could be taken into account

Experience:

Experience in office design and retrofits, project planning and implementation in the Government of Canada setting
Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD software (recent version) to design office space, including the ability to provide working drawings, adept in editing and modifying program parameters
Experience in the interpretation of floor plans
Experience with the evaluation of contract furniture, including systems furniture in relations to procurement in the Government of Canada setting
Experience negotiating, facilitating and managing contracts related to facilities management.
Experience supervising a working team, and assigning tasks

Knowledge:

Knowledge of facilities management theories, methods, procedures and practices in the Government of Canada setting
Knowledge of the Government of Canada's interior design principles and practices including building and fire code regulations
Knowledge of the Government of Canada GC Workplace Initiative
Knowledge of AutoCAD software pertaining to office planning and design
Knowledge of financial systems and analysis of financial reports and budget management (Knowledge of the SAP system would be an asset
Knowledge of government policies, regulations and guidelines particularly in areas of facilities and contract management
Knowledge of risk management and creation of business cases will be considered an asset
