The Community Safety and Crime Prevention Branch is responsible for victim service programs, crime prevention initiatives, responses to sexual exploitation and human trafficking, and civil forfeiture.

The branch operates the Crime Victim Assistance Program, the Victim Safety Unit, court support and victim restitution programs.


The Administrative Assistant is accountable for the efficient administration of the day-to-day priorities of the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Branch; providing a variety of administrative, financial, and client support services as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum 1 year of clerical/administrative support experience in an office setting.
  • Experience providing customer service, including problem solving, tracking, and followup.
  • Experience working directly with the public either in person or over the phone with various individuals in situations requiring the use of tact and diplomacy.
  • Experience with records management/archiving.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Post-secondary education and/or training in Office Administration or in a related field.
  • 2 or more years of clerical/administrative support experience in an office setting.
