Role Details

  • When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. It takes all of us to take on cancer. Volunteer with us at one of our signature events in your community on event day. You can choose a specific role and shift (s) based on availability. You can also assist us when we need event support on an oncall basis in your own community.

  • The Vancouver Daffodil Ball is happening this year on Saturday, April 27th at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Raffle ticket sellers will patrol an assigned section of the Pacific Ballroom during the cocktail reception and an assigned section of the BC Ballroom during dinner to sell Raffle tickets to guests.

All tickets must be sold by 9:00 PM so ticket sellers must remain diligent throughout their selling shift.
Assigned Selling Territory

  • Territory assignments are intended to help ensure that all guests are approached as evenly as possible without being 'overasked'
  • Each team of 2 volunteers will be assigned to sell tickets in a specific territory during the cocktail reception and a specific territory of the BC Ballroom
  • Floor plans of the Conference Level Floor and the BC Ballroom will be provided to each team with their territories clearly marked
Ticket Selling & Payment Procedure

  • The Rafflebox devices provided will be used to sell the tickets.
  • Teams will keep doing this until all Raffle tickets have been sold
  • Do not void any tickets
- if there is an issue, please speak to your lead.

  • Guests may pay for their tickets using credit card or debit.

Note:
Guests can purchase tickets on their mobile phones.

  • All transactions will be cashless.
  • Why we need you
  • Sell Raffle tickets to guests primarily during the cocktail reception and in the BC Ballroom during dinner. (Training will be provided)
  • What were looking for
  • Excellent customer service skills and a desire to help ensure an excellent experience for guests.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Warm, friendly and professional demeanour.
Our Investment

  • Volunteer Equipment
  • Volunteer 1 will be equipped with a pocket apron to hold tickets, pens, and Raffle box machine.
  • Volunteer 2 will have balloons with a Diamond Raffle sign visible from front and back
Training will be provided to ensure all Raffle ticket sellers know how to use the Rafflebox machines.

  • This is a one day commitment
  • Must be available to volunteer for a minimum 5 hour shift
