The Sales technician will be responsible for:

  • Sales Skills
  • strong ability to identify, develop, and close sales opportunities by introducing new products and technologies while maintaining existing relationships in an effort to increase Messer sales and exceed customer expectations
  • Winning, retaining, and growing all profitable managed customer accounts between $5K and $100K to contribute to the achievement of the sales, service, and profit targets for a specified sales area.
  • Relationshipbuilding skills should be able to create and maintain strong customer relationships, by being attentive to customer needs, responsive to their inquiries, and providing a high level of customer service


Organizational skills
  • Outside sales representatives often have to manage multiple accounts and activities simultaneously. Being able to prioritize, plan, and manage time effectively is essential.


Strong work ethic
  • The ability to work hard, be persistent, and stay motivated in a competitive environment is important for success in outside sales
  • Supporting and delivering winning sales strategies.
  • Working collaboratively with the specialty/technical sales, retail, and other support functions to deliver on targets.
  • Contributing to the overall performance of the region as a member of the regional retail and sales team.
  • Ability to record important customer interactions in the Salesforce (CRM) to ensure accurate tracking of opportunities and customer inquiries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

What it takes:

  • College or University Degree preferably in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering (any discipline), Metallurgy, Welding, or specialized training in a field such as sales or customer service or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal, sales and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • This position requires frequent travel within assigned Sales Territory, up to 75% of the time, to meet with clients and attend industry training. Overnight travel will be necessary on occasion."
