Job Summary

As a member of the Enterprise Data Office, the Data Quality (DQ) Manager establishes and applies methodologies/practices aimed at ensuring data is correct, consistent, sustainable and trusted by end users.

These practices include profiling / measurement, analysis, business impact analysis, reporting, and monitoring.

This role participates in developing solutions to DQ-related business problems, including one-time data cleanses, development of passive & active DQ rules, and controls/measures inserted into business processes.

Additionally, it defines DQ standards, guidelines and procedures. This role will perform, as required, DQ tool selection and rationalization.
The DQ Manager will assess data quality by using competencies like Clarity (i.e. that attributes and values are at the correct level of detail), Accuracy (i.e. the extent to which the data is free of identifiable errors ), Precision (i.e. sufficient detail to allow repeated measures to yield the same result under unchanged conditions), Completeness (i.e. all required data items are included), Currency (i.e. data is up-to-date or reflective of the current state), Validity (i.e. attributes referring to Metadata may be validated against DQ rules), and Relevance (i.e. data is meaningful or applicable to the performance of the process or use for which it is collected).

The Data Quality Manager leads or participates as a senior representative on cross functional business project teams representing the Enterprise Data Quality function.

Job Responsibilities


Understand Apotex business practices and work closely with Domain Owners, Data Stewards and data related functions to implement all DQ related processes and changes.

Works closely with MDM and DQ Lead to lead the implementation of DQ strategic decisions and Operation plans.
Prepares DQ management policy, defines DQ management processes and procedures and ensures compliance to DQ management policy.
Works with project or functional teams to build supporting solutions, satisfy service requests and collect DQ metrics.
Manages and facilitates the establishment

and implementation of data quality policies, methodologies, standards and guidelines, as well as the data quality framework.

Leads the establishment and maintenance of the definition of data quality metrics, measurement, thresholds, monitoring and reporting mechanisms across the organization.

Leads the implementation of data quality communication and training plan
In collaboration with Domain Owners, manages Data Stewards' data quality related activities, responsibilities and accountabilities.
Manages the development and training of data quality best practices.

Liaises with business and IT stakeholders as needed for the implementation and adherence to the data quality management policy, framework and process.

Leads the implementation of change management processes related to data quality management.
Establishes criteria for data quality technology and participates in its evaluation, selection and implementation.
Manages, monitors and evaluates the state of data quality management and works towards its continued improvement.
Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Ensure personal adherence with all compliance programs including the Global Business Ethics and Compliance Program, Global Quality policies and procedures, Safety and Environment policies, and HR policies.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or Technology

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Familiar with Data Quality Management methodologies and practices
Data Quality metrics and controls
Indirectly managing or mentoring small to large teams
Working with business resources to develop business processes
Working knowledge in practices and technology in areas such as Business Intelligence, data models, business glossary, and master data domain management
Strong analytical skills
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to present in front of senior management, and both small and large audiences
Ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus

Experience

7+ years of experience in Data Management and/or Data Quality
Experience with data profiling tools
Experience with ETL tools
Experience with ERP systems
Experience with Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence solutions
Informatica tools
