Instructor for Adults with Developmental

The Elves Adult Program is a community access day program for adults living with developmental disabilities. We are currently looking for a permanent, full time instructor (front line staff) to join our team.

The following are the chief responsibilities for this position:

  • Participating in the development of appropriate, functional and flexible programs, and implementation of same for a group of individuals with an atmosphere of warmth and respect.
  • Consistent practice of health and safety and hygiene activities relating to the Program participants. These include supporting individuals with toileting and personal care.
  • Providing behavioural support to individuals who might display behaviours of concern, as per specific plans in place.
  • Promoting social inclusion of program participants.
  • Demonstrating consistent and appropriate interpersonal skills within a multiprofessional model and with respect to interactions with families and caregivers.
  • When required, timely dispensing of participants' medications as directed through written consent and following established documentation procedures.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma (Grade 12)
  • One year direct experience with individuals with disabilities

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Pay:
$18.75 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
