About the Job Position

The company is looking for a Correctional Officer to join their team. As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of persons in custody in an adult correctional facility. Your role will involve various duties within the facility such as supervision, administrative tasks, and facilitating pro-social behavior among the persons in custody.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Facility Security
    • Dynamic supervision of persons in custody and ensuring their safety
  • Persons in Custody Supervision
    • Case management, organizing visits, responding to complaints, and supervising work activities
  • Physical Plant Maintenance
    • Supervising facility cleaning and maintenance work orders
  • Programs
    • Informing persons in custody about available programs and supporting their participation
  • Administration & Communication
    • Recording and communicating information, participating in meetings, and promoting teamwork and a healthy workplace
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma and 2 years of related experience in fields such as law enforcement, security, or the military. Leadership experience and knowledge in a computerized environment are considered assets for this position.

Equivalency
  • A related post-secondary diploma
  • Combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience
  • 5 years of continuous employment in an unrelated field

Pay Grade: ACC 04 - Hourly

Salary Range: $33.21 Hourly
