Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Calgary office is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Accounting.

This position reports to the Supervisor, Financial Accounting in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU) as part of Pembina's Facilities Division.

The Gas Services Business Unit provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
  • Support Pembina's safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the "Life Saving Rules". To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit ;
  • Assist with monthly entries in accordance with IFRS including deferred revenue, accruals, and lease accounting;
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly EBITDA variance analysis;
  • Calculate quarterly operating and fixed fees;
  • Prepare annual equalization/13th month adjustment statements;
  • Collaborate with Production Accounting, Business Development, Commercial Services, and Accounting Policy to understand and assess appropriate accounting treatment under IFRS for new and amended agreements;
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliation;
  • Assist with Energy Link queries and dispute resolution;
  • Maintain and update internal control processes and documentation;
  • Support and maintain open communication with all departments including but not limited to Corporate Accounting, Operations, Tax, Treasury and PGI Planning;
  • Participate in industry peer groups from a technical accounting perspective;
  • Other duties as required or assigned; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will be energetic, resilient and possess a positive, can-do attitude;
  • 5+ years of post-designation experience in similar or related roles;
  • Bachelor's degree (Commerce, Business Administration, or related discipline) and professional accounting designation required;
  • Technical accounting skills, with experience in IFRS 15 and 16 interpretation and analysis;
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills;
  • Effective communication, organization, and team-building skills complemented by a strong work ethic;
  • Motivated self-starter who performs well independently and within a team environment; ability to adapt effectively to changing priorities;
  • Results oriented with strong organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask;
  • Experience with SAP and advanced user of Excel along with strong skills with Word, and other Microsoft applications is an asset; and
  • Experience in oil and gas, and specifically midstream/pipeline industry would be an asset.
